New General Banking Conditions apply in the Netherlands effective 1 March 2017. They have been drafted in consultation between the Dutch Banking Association (NVB), the Consumers’ Association and various employers’ organisations. The General Banking Conditions provide for the rights and obligations between a bank and its customers to the extent not deviated from in another agreement. The General Banking Conditions are used by all members of the Dutch Banking Association and pertain to the entire relationship between the bank and its customers, regardless of whether consumers or corporate customers are concerned. The 2017 General Banking Conditions replace the 2009 General Banking Conditions. What has changed?
