Nick specialises in lease law in the broadest sense, with an emphasis on renting and letting residential property. Nick regularly acts on behalf of housing associations, authorities, care institutions, educational institutions, and investors. In addition, he regularly teaches courses and gives presentations for them on lease law subjects. Nick also deals with cases in the field of apartment law, with an emphasis on issues at the interface of lease law and apartment law.
Nick graduated from Maastricht University in 2008. Before joining Law&Pepper Advocaten, he was employed at Boels Zanders Advocaten for eleven years. From 2011 to 2018 he was seconded to a housing association for one day a week, where he fulfilled the role of in-house counsel.
In 2016, Nick graduated cum laude from the specialist course of the Dutch Association of Landlord and Tenant Law Practitioners (VHA). He has been a member of this specialist association ever since. In addition, he completed the apartment law course of the Netherlands Institute for Construction Law (IBR) in 2013. He is a member of the Lawyers’ Association for Apartment Law (JA).
Register of practice areas
In the register of practice areas of the Netherlands Bar Association, Nick has registered the practice area of lease law. To maintain this registration, according to the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association he must obtain ten training points in each registered practice area every calendar year.
