The sublessee, in particular the authorised sublessee, has obtained a serious place in various sections of law in title 7.4 of the Dutch Civil Code. In this article, the position of the sublessee in tenancy law will be explained, both with respect to the sublessor, the main lessor and the receiver. The sublessee of business premises under Section 290 of Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code, of premises under Section 230a of Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code and of undeveloped immovable property is dealt with.
